Pass Christian, Mississippi Just spent the night in my motorhome in the Walmart lot in Pass Christian. The old Walmart store more or less disappeared in the Katrina storm. I was told by a fishermen a wall of water 40 feet high was driven by the hurricane wind and took almost everything out. He took his boat well up into a bayou where it was safe.
The storm apparently delivered packages of rain soaked men’s shirts, jeans and underwear and ladies undergarments for miles around.
While parked in the new Walmart lot I could see the Gulf of Mexico as clearly as if I had rented a room in a luxury hotel. And it cost me nothing other than the groceries I needed to buy.
I was impressed by the layout of the store. Since Walmart lets me park overnight in an out-of-the-way spot I am becoming an expert.
If Walmart patterned their stores on the Pass Christian layout I’m sure it would make customers happy. Unfortunately each store has products in different places and it takes time to figure the different patterns out.
